Honestly: it depends on what you have, and anyone who quotes a replacement without seeing your system is guessing. But you shouldn't have to call to understand what moves the number, so here it is.

Repairs come down to the part and how long it takes to reach it. Most are a single visit; the common failures — igniters, capacitors, contactors, thermostats — are inexpensive parts, and you'll get the price before any work starts.

Replacements are driven by four things: the size your home actually needs, the efficiency tier you choose, the condition of the existing ductwork and electrical, and whether you're staying with the same system type or switching (a furnace-to-heat-pump change costs more than a like-for-like swap).

Whatever it comes to, you get one clear number in writing before anything begins — and nobody here earns a bonus for talking you into the bigger option.

Yes. 777 HVAC LLC is a registered Washington HVAC contractor, L&I license 777HVHL785K7, and state registration requires the company to carry a contractor bond and liability insurance. The person who comes to your door is Alex, the owner.

Alex, the owner. 777 HVAC is an owner-operated company: Alex answers the phone, diagnoses the system, does the repair or installation and handles the follow-up. There are no subcontractors, rotating crews or salespeople.

Gas and electric furnaces, heat pumps (ducted, and ductless mini-splits in single- and multi-zone setups), central air conditioning, heat recovery ventilators (HRVs) and ductwork, for homes and for offices, shops and restaurants. Recent installs include Daikin and Goodman heat pumps and Daikin multi-zone mini-splits, and we work on all major brands.

No. 777 HVAC works Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, and does not run an after-hours emergency service. If your heat or cooling is out, call during those hours and you’ll get the earliest opening, or a straight answer if it isn’t soon enough. If you smell gas, leave the house and call 911 and NW Natural at 800-882-3377.

For no heat or no cooling, call and you'll get the earliest opening we have, Monday to Friday. If we can't get to you in time, we'll tell you straight away so you can call someone else. For everything else, usually within a couple of business days. Call and you'll get a real answer about today, not a queue.

Estimates on replacements and new installations are free. For a repair visit there is a diagnostic charge to cover the trip and the time to find the fault properly — you'll be told the exact amount when you book, never after.

For homes heated with electricity, Clark Public Utilities pays $500 to $1,250 for a central heat pump and $900 for a ductless one (checked October 26, 2026); the central heat pump rebate requires an installer on the utility’s Contractor Network list, so check that list before you sign with anyone. 777 HVAC was not on it when it was checked on October 26, 2026, so if you are counting on the central heat pump rebate, ask about it before you book. For gas furnaces, NW Natural’s offer lists an $800 Energy Trust of Oregon incentive for a 95% AFUE or better furnace, through January 31, 2027. The federal 25C tax credit ended for equipment installed after December 31, 2025. The programs checked in October 2026, with who qualifies for each, are in the Clark County rebate guide.

Yes. Replacing heating or cooling equipment needs a mechanical permit and an inspection from the city or county the house is in. Inside Vancouver city limits, replacing a furnace or air conditioner also requires a duct leakage test before final approval; in unincorporated Clark County, a one-for-one swap can use the county’s Limited Trade Permit. Ask any installer for the permit number before work starts.

A straightforward furnace or heat-pump changeout is usually a single day, and you'll have heat or cooling again that evening. Jobs involving ductwork, electrical changes or a switch to a different system type can run to two days. You'll be told which one you're looking at before any work starts.

For the diagnosis, yes — someone over 18 needs to be there to let us in and describe what the system has been doing. For longer installation work you don't need to be present the whole time, as long as we can get in and reach you by phone.
